Yeah the lcd for both the temp and time and gear selection has kinda messed up on my car. No idea why, though, the rest of the cluster's fine. Sorry can't help more, but just letting you know I'm having issues there too.

I would like to get this thread going again. I picked up a 2000 E430 last week and I have the same issue with the temp/time/and gear selector LCD's not being consistent and going out. The center information screen is perfect.
I plan to pull the cluster and check for loose/dirty connections. Has there been any more information passed on about this problem on this forum as of late?
Thanks

LCD display problems are everywhere in the forum. Seems to be a bad pin connection design or quality.
I pulled out my cluster and sprayed circuit cleaner liberally. It worked for some time but missing pixels appeared again
. After two months they are, by themselves, all lighted again
. Looks like temperature changes affect the connection
.
If it is the whole display of one of your LCD´s then it is a burnt bulb. Easy fix.
