What to do with this window problem
Hi all,
When I was out for dinner with my family (my wife and a 9 month old son) and on the way back, my wife pushed window button to lower the window. All of the sudden, heard some kinda locking sounds and few seconds later, heard fxxxing cracking noise, then fxxxing window sunken into door!
Is same that I can fix or just take it to dealer?

Just happened to me this afternoon
This time it was the right rear passenger window on my MY00 E430 with 59,600 miles. The first time was the left rear passenger window about 2 years ago which was fixed under warranty. But, now since my warranty has expired, I am sure the repair is going to cost several hundred dollars unless I can get the dealer to goodwill it because the regulators / plastic gear teeth are known quality problems. If I cannot get it goodwill'd, then I will go to my local independent Mercedes shop. Mercedes window regulators and swtiches have been notorious quality issues since 1999.

Guys we've all accepted the window regulator problems as a definate exprerience that anyone that owns a W210 will experience atleast once in their W210 lifetime.
Like E-Klass said, do a search for "window regulator" and you should be able to do it yourself and save $$$$

I did mine myself ('00 E320 - right rear window) and I'm just a piano player. $87.00 for the regulator (I think) and about $25.00 for a pop-rivet gun and instructions from the board here.
Takes a little time but keeps some of my money in my pocket.
