I have a 1999 e240 and the
BAS lights on..
Changed the brake switch,,
changed the battery 88ah,,
turned the steering from left to right to reccalibrate the ESP sterring angle sensor.
What next, besides the back window now needs a new regulator because I had to Synchronize the windows and the dam thing made lots off lovely gruntting noises.
Merc tech feels its either the computer or a switch that just behind the round diaphragm thing.
And if they put it in and still doesnt work well,,,you still have to pay for the parts.
At $110,000 new in australia, god u reckon it should last for ever.
So gents please can someone give me some sound advise please.
I have only travelled 75 km or 35 miles.

First try resetting the computer (need to hookup the onboard computer with a DAS software to do that - an MB mech should have these).....that will be your cheapest and most probable cure at this stage. Chances are if you changed ur battery without keeping the car hooked up to another battery (as most ppl wouldnt), ur computer software would have been corrupted. Good luck matey!
