Totalled by a Ford today!! The Benz saved our butts!
While heading back to work today after lunch, a F****** Ford Escort jumped into our lane and we had a head-on collision at about 40mph. Two co-workers and I walked away with minor injuries (one broken arm). The poor lady in the Ford looked seriously hurt. The rescue squad had to open her door with the hydraulic "jaws of life" and her leg looked seriously mangled. I am quite thankful that the benz safety cage held up very well and our airbags deployed like they should.
I stood in the road realizing the irony of the seeing the new rims that I had put on the day before trashed in the street. The crash pushed both front wheels back a good foot or so. One of my lower control arms and a suspension spring was laying several feet in front of my car. I kept thinking of what a ***** it was to replace those control arm bushings a few months ago.
It felt very bittersweet to see my car and the upgrades/repairs that I have put into it strewn across the street and realizing that benz saved our lives today. I will post some photos after I visit the car in the impound yard tomorrow. I will definitely be in the market for another W210!
cheers

I am sorry to hear about your loss, it's always diffucult to see your hard work wasted. Gladly you made it out alive and at the end of the day that's all that matters. Hopefully everything will work out with the insurance company.

things with and without wheels
Sorry to hear about your loss , make sure the accident report was filled out correctly sometimes silly typo or wrong choice of words can be very costly when it's time for the inssurance company to pay-up

Another reason why they should ban all Ford (and probably GM too) from the public road.

I am so glad to hear that you all made it out of that wreck alive. The picture of your car should be used in an ad for MB. That shows how well made these cars really are. It makes me feel a lot better knowing that my wife is driving one of these as well as the one I drive.

That picture is worth more words than you posted about the accident. It looks like the accident is more than you made it out to be. Thankfully, you are okay and the Benz did it's job protecting you.
You'll be back on the road in no time with a new MB.

We were very fortunate in this accident to come out of it relatively unscathed. My wife had not seen a picture of the car until last night. She nearly passed out when she saw it. Most everyone who sees the photo finds it hard to believe all three of us walked out. Heck, all of the doors except the passenger front opened and closed like they should! I have read a lot of complaints over quality issues on Mercedes over the past 2 years since I have owned my E420. I say BS! Take care of your car and it will take care of you!
I am now working through the insurance companies to get paid and I have started shopping for another car. I am leaning toward a "post-face lift" E430 or an E55 if I can swing it. After experiencing this accident, I would have a difficult time convincing myself or my family not to put my rear end in another W210.
IMHO
PS: The rental Chevy Impala I have feels like driving a large soda can!

'04 Silverado Z71 - sold all my Benzes and need another!
WOAH!!!
Thank God you guys are all okay. I haven't posted in here for quite some time now and I think I need to go and buy another E. This is truly an amazing pic. I am going to show this pic. my wife tonight and hopefully this will help sway her in letting me get another Benz. Take care bro and let us know what you will be getting next.
On another sad note, nice color combo as FIXED said and what a shame to lose such a rare combo. If I were you I would try to salvage the interior if I could, as long as it wasn't damaged. Good luck man and congrats on walking away from that!

Yes sir,,good to see you're still with us.Makes me wonder if a person would have been as lucky in anything else.I believe the new E's are still rated the best in passenger fatalities, like our 210's.At least they are still doing that right.

Hope that poor woman is ok... her fault or otherwise, you should follow up on her condition.
As for you, thank God for that MB safety culture... the car held up great.. this is why I bought an MB (and a Volvo for my wife and kids).. safety. I posted this pic (see link below) on another thread but it's worth posting again... the guys in the W211, 270CDI walked away with very minor injuries, the two in the cop car were killed on impact.
