Brabus Tuneing

BRABUS 6.1 for E 430 and E 55, 426 hp / 313 kW, 621 Nm, 285 km/h what is this? I was looking at their site to see if they still had w202 stuff and went to check the 210 stuff out, is it just a bore to 6.1 does it come with cams or a price, the site does not seem to be specific so I was wondering if you guys knew anything about this, or if anyone had it done to your cars?

Brabus increases the displacement to 6.1 liters using a special crankshaft, an enlarged bore & stroke to 3.9"x 3.7" and appropriate pistons. Flow resistance of the intake and exhaust sections of the 3-valve cyclinder heads are optimized. Also, the conversion is completed with special camshafts, OBDII capability metal catalyst and a recalibrated ECU.

Price...my guesstimate is $46K retail. I recall a friend paid $30K+ for his 5.8.

could this be done in conjunction with the kleeman blower? I ask this because if it can, and with the addition of an evosport pullie, an exhaust system (Kleeman headers, high flow cats, no res and muff) your e classes could beat slrs? I am aware of the weight difference between the two, however with upgraded tranny than these e classes could take on and win all other cars, which really makes me wonder why mb didn't do this in the first place with the newer e classes? Just an interesting thought on a lazy summer day. or an interesting possibility with those with w202 c55's

and do you have a link to where you pulled the info from, I was on the brabus site but could not find it.

Anything's possible with unlimited funds

The Brabus "tuned" engines are high compression, adding a blower to a 11:1 CR is not recommended. Lower the compression, forged the bottom end, strengthen the drivetrain and be prepared to dishout some major dough!

As for the Kleemann kit, I personal like their laminova intercoolers/heat exchangers...best in the biz

this is not unlimited funds either though cost of brabus kit 46k kleeman kit 11k complete exhust (kleeman headers high flow cats no res nice muff) 3.5k, pullie $300, ngk plugs magcore wires $85 coming out to almost 62k, assuming you own a e55 or e430, it is much cheaper than buying a new e55 or the e63 coming out soon, and lets add 5k for (Lower the compression, forged the bottom end, strengthen the drivetrain) also given that most people here have done some suspension work, controlling this machine would not be a problem which would mean 67k retail, and I am sure you could workout a deal for less than that also much less than an sl65 s56 cl65 s600 or e55, but my big question would be how do you lower compression? Just a thought for any rich 210 owner....

Add labor cost into the equation and your beyond $70k I could not convince myself dropping that amount on engine mods alone...but that's just me!

Interesting to see how the 6.3 AMG engine performs with aftermarket force induction.

Swap the heads, add thicker gaskets and depending on the chamber size you could get it milled to lower compression. There are pro head shops that offer, CNC programs to machine the chamber for FI applications.

My supercharged E430 was a fun car and provided gains beyond the B 6.1 adverstise 426 HP, with the blower in stock form it net 356rwhp (445HP) after a few mods I increased boost PSI by 2 pounds (approx. 20-25rwhp). But, comparing a FI engine vs NA engine is like comparing apples to oranges...under the power curve the two behave differently.

My C6 currently has a aftermarket head & cam and soon will be adding a force induction unit, I'm taking the extra precautions now for the added stress.

Hey Hubert,

Yes, a local buyer purchased the Brabus wheels & muffler section...but he's yet to pickup the muffler as I've been in and out of town lately.

Last we spoke over the phone, you were installing the Gruppe M unit...how did it go? Also, did you get a boost gauge installed.
