Green vs. K & N
Okay, been reading about these Green air filters. Checked out their USA Web site, etc. Their propaganda sounds good, appear to be a bit pricey. What can you guys tell me about them vs. K & N?

Ive been usin K&N since 2003,and changed and cleaned one since, and I can tell you,its a definite plus for acceleration, and mileage. With one in reserve, and one in use,I might never have to buy another.80$ investment for 2 filters, plus $10 for the cleaner/oiler kit, thats it,Im set.Unfortunaately,I dont know from Green.

I've been using K&N products for 15 years.I will use them until I see another product that I feel is superior.I know if you search this forum you'll find people that have used this product and it has ruined their mass air sensors.I also believe that most people will use a product- any thing from a microwave to a food processor to a K&N air filter without READING THE INSRUCTIONS/DIRECTIONS.I just read today on this site where someone didn't know they could clean them and threw it away and bought another one. Most problems with K&N filters are from over oiling them.Whether it came from the factory or was recently cleaned. If you read the directions on the box and the re-charging kit you will have many years of reliable service.I have the K&N in my 97 Maxima now for 140k miles - not one bad mass air sensor or any problems and I'm still getting 23 mpg at an average speed of 75 mph.

Don't know about K&N, but I'm very happy w/ my Green. Car breath much better, and accelerator response was better after I put in the Green Air. Gas mileage stay the same.
Some member have complained that K&N screw up their Mercedes MAF. No similar complain for Green yet.
I don't intend to re-oil mine when it gets dirty. I rather spend $40 and get a new air filter than over-oil it and mess up my MAF.

I concur..i popped in a K&N filter bout 15000Kms ago, and i've felt the diff, better mileage, and quicker on the pedals..
I've bought the reoiling kit and all and am just waiting when it hits a 30K before washing and reoiling it. My mech has been using K&N's for most of his clients cars and there are no probs whatsover..

OK, guys......I know all about the K & N filters, I too have been successfully using them in all my cars for the last 20 years or so. The features and benefits of the Green filters seem a bit superior to the K & N. Just wanted some comparison info. between Green and K & N.
