Exclamation Heated Seat Not "Heating"

02 E320, I searched the forum but could'nt find a solution.
My driver side seat does'nt heat up at all. The lights on the switch illuminate, but the seat does get warm. Is there a quick easy fix to this, I'm not really a dealer type of owner.
Thanks

an import
My 97 has done the same (only the back, the seat still works).

In your case if the entire seat doesn't heat, the easiest check is to see if the fuse is gone.

I've been told that (in my case) they have to take the seat apart to get at the heating pads. Most likely that the pad is done and needs to be replaced. At $100/hr shop rate this could be a very expensive fix.

Thanks for the reply. If it was the fuse (no part of the seat heats up), would the lights on the switch still illuminate? (because they do) Would it be the fuse in the engine compartment or is there an in-line fuse somewhere? Is there anything I should look for under the seat?

Yes, the light will still come on with a blown fuse. Your best bet is to check to see if there is voltage to the seat heater. Most likely, the heating pad is faulty.

If The Fuse is ok..Then Test the seat heater pads with a OHM Meter..
Unplug the connection under the seat and use a OHM Meter to test the circuit...very easy...If Open Circuit..then you have a defective pad/pads
