Engine Oil Level
Recently I have been getting an error message regarding engine oil level. Problem is, the engine oil level is fine.
I have no leaks and as far as I know burn no significant amount of oil. The first time the alert came on I cruising around 75mph. Since that time it has come on intermittently at no predictable time. Worse yet, it does not happen all of the time and the conditions (speed, rpm, etc.) when it comes on vary widely.
I have a couple of thoughts on this and would welcome any learned opinions on the topic:
1) The oil sending unit is going bad and/or has a short.
2) The oil pump is going bad and occasionally there is a dearth of oil albeit for only a second or two.
3) (INSERT YOUR OPINION HERE).
Thanks!
