AMG Exhaust Question
I just purchased a exhaust from a 2000 E55. The guy sold me the whole thing with the cats, for $500. I want to bolt it on. Will the cats work with my car?

Sorry I cannot help with your question but your car looks hot. I love the color. That color was my first choice but couldn't find on in the sport model so I bought a 01 black E430 Sport.

Yes, but you will have to cut your rear bumper to get the tips in the same spot as an E55. I had to do this on my E430. Line it out over some masking tape, then use a coping saw or dremel tool to cut it out. When you're done, the edge will be pretty smooth and can be touched up to look like you have the 55 bumper. I think it looks really tacky to force it below the bumper. Nice color:
First off, what an amazing, rare and beautiful color. I love the chrome Brabus wheels too.
I am not sure about the cats (hopefully they are undamaged and in good condition) but I would bolt on everything PAST the cats, and then have the muffler shop do the cut outs for the exhaust tips.
FYI - I have an AMG exhaust for my CLK 430 and did not have to cut anything.

The E430 doesn't have the bumper cutout like the E55 to fit it. The option is to tweak it to hang below the bumper, or cut out the 430 bumper to match the opening in the 55 bumper. Here is the 430 (before the exhaust) and the 55, so you can see the difference.
