2000 E320 COMAND - removal help

Is there anyway removing the COMAND unit out of the car easy? I've never done it before. I have a set of radio removal key/tool, but that doesn't seems to be fitting anyway. I would appreciate for any help. I searched several places, but no avail.

No Need to remove shifter trim e.t.c.

Just open the ashtray a little bit - you'll find two screws - unscrew those.
Use magnetic screw driver so you won't loose those.
Use your radio tools to pull back climate control station a little bit.
Pull the console trim (big piece) out and unhook the climate control.
Place the trim on the shifter somewhere ( no need to unhook couple of wires)
Unscrew 2 screws that hold comand and take it out.
That's it.
It has one tiny really hard to remove connection you'll have to use smth very thin and strong to take it out. Be carefull don't brake it.

Putting the whole thing back is real fun!!! I had to try 6 times till I got it.
;-)))))))))))

Sounds great! I will try it and will post my results. Wish me a luck!! Is there any other things that I should know? It is my first try and I am really looking forward to take that baby out and check it thoroughly to make sure everthing is checked before I replace it.

I may open up that COMAND and see how it is constructed as well.

Many thanks in advance.
