i looked into this, from what i understand, because there is a stock alarm you have to buy a special relay system (believe it runs about 100 dollars). Also when you buy this adapter it will allow you to operate features like the power door locks, remote windows, remote lights ect.

When it's -30 F or more, nothing is nicer than a warmed up Benz. Furthermore, many of them have a restart every 2-4 hours to keep the engine warm (a very nice alternative to an ice cold engine,oil and interior.

I would look for a freeze plug heater. I installed one in a Volvo when I lived in northern NY. The car would start instantly when the temperature was -28f and the heater would produce heat within 1/2 mile. I plugged the heater into a timer to turn on the heater a few hours before leaving in the morning so it wasn't burning electricity all night.
