Want DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS

Here's a question I haven't seen talked about:

Is it possible to add daytime running lights (DRL) to a USA-version W210 (mine's a 2001 E430 4Matic). I have seen several postings from members in Canada interested in removing their DRL.

I think it's a good safety feature, and I'm surprised MB doesn't make it available throughout their model line (as I believe BMW does, for example).

Would anyone know which parts I'd need to do this conversion?

Thanks!

P.S. Sure enjoy this site and the forums! I'm a brand new member, but I can tell you I wish I'd found this site earlier --- I'd be adding a COMAND system to my car right now, instead of an aftermarket DVD Nav. system. I'll let everyone know how I make out with that project as well.

PA28150,

I recently had the daytime running lights feature added to my '01 E430K . They work great and another added bonus that I did not expect is that if you do turn your light on at night and turn off the car and open the door you now have a warning chime that should have been there all along in my humble opinion. Anyway had mine done at MB Autowerks and it took about an hour.

We get that auto-chime here in the UK [no daytime running lights]- presumably its a soft setting somewhere ...

Im told that if you have original Xenon lights, then daytime running is just a software setting - on cars without some extra relays are needed etc ...
