Considering a W210: resources for DIY maintenance
I intend to do almost all work on the car myself, partly as economic rationalization of buying such a nice car and partly as hobby. Is there enough information out there for DIYers? Could you point me to some of those resources?
I did find the info CD hosted at braingears, which looks like a nice overview but short on details.
Thanks,
Wallace
dozen years. They only come on CDROM/DVD now. There are many on Ebay
implying they're factory but I find it hard to tell fact from fiction. In the early
stages, WIS MB disks were going for $300, but seems to have stabilized around
the $100 mark now.
Can be problematic and you read of folks who have pulled their hair trying to
install them onto their PCs. Software is very particular and (used to) require
loopback network key setting.
yes, the braingear version is just the nice informational disk offered by MB....
someone (Ala-benz?) said it was on their website for $100. it's not a repair
CD/manual, rather an interactive tour of the vehicle.
How about diagnostic software tools or scanners? A company called Ross-Tech makes VAG-COM, an aftermarket VW/Audi scanning system. Know of anything similar for these cars, besides generic OBD-II scanners? I hear those only scratch the surface of the Mercedes control system.
Thanks,
Wallace
