Question Fold-in Mirrors on 2001 E430?

I can't fold the side mirrors in manually -- is there an electric fold-in feature that I'm not aware of? If so, how do I do it? TIA...

I have 2000 E430; my mirrors don't fold in. I don't think they're supposed to, which is bad for on-street city parking, of course Maybe they do on other models? My car is fully loaded, so I am pretty sure there's no auto-fold-in on the 2000 model at least...

Apparently some models (wish I knew where) DO get the electric fold-in feature. There's a spot in the fuse box for that particular circuit (along with some other cool gadgets that we in the USA don't have either).

I know the ML's have an electric fold-in option, so maybe there's someone out there who's added it to the W210??? It would be a nice touch for city parking, as well as for anyone with a narrow garage.

I think folding mirrors are an available option, but not in North America.

Folding Mirrors never an option on any US W210 models.

Okay, next question, then: has anyone ever retrofitted folding mirrors into a W210 (see PA28150's question)?

Funny things that the manual of w210 stated to fold mirros when a car in carwash. However, there is no any other place in manual how to do that.

I'm going to install these soon!

An update to all ----

I've been doing some research on this subject (folding mirrors) and I've located the components I need. I expect it will take a while yet before I receive them (parts are coming from Europe).

Wish me luck! I'll keep you all posted as to my progress, and hopefully I'll have some photos to share as well.

Adding folding mirrors is no problem at all...you only need a switch )which sits right of the mirror adjustment switch), a wire harness and two sidemirrors.
I added folding mirrors myself to both my C250D and 300SL24...I had several W210 blinking mirrorsets with folding feature (only have 1 rightside left at the moment) and have a set of folding mirrors for the non blinking 210s/202s in case anyone is interested...

greetingz,

Project DONE!!

An update: Project is complete! Way cool too!

I'll be posting pictures in the near future (as soon as I get some time to sort through all the ones I took).

Thanks to Mike (MBenzNL) for all his help.
