Vibration/Clank; Right front end cure!
Been having a vibration when starting from a stand still after the car has sat for about 10 minutes then it goes away. I get a clank everytime I hit a bump on the right side. So since I'm in Canada ( cold as a polar bear toenails) for the holidays and my bro n law has a shop decide to do the work up here. Brought a lower control arm bushing kit off Ebay for about $45.00. So with the kit, springs/dampers (I still havent installed) , factory rims and of course snow tires off I went. After getting into the project here are the things I learned. Springs were easy to install,by removing the lower shock bolt, sway bar end link bolt and detaching lower ball joint and lower the control arm to it's max without putting pressure on hoses or sensor lines. Then with a crow bar or large screw driver pryed the spring out. NO SPRING COMPRESSORS. I repeat no spring compressors. Put new spring in and raise the control arm back up, done. Now with the control arm completely off on the side that needed the change, removing the large bushing is very hard to remove unless you have the right bushing removing tool. So if you decide to do this done have the tool or have a repair shop you can take the control arm to and have them remove and press the bushings .So after all was done no more vibrations and no more clank #4 up front and #1 in the rear Vogtland springs and bilstein dampers. Very please. Thanks Mark!
