climate control

i have a 97 E320.

if its approximately 45 degrees outside, and i set the climate control unit to 70 degrees, it should blow at 70 degrees. but it blows cool air.
now, this is in manual mode.
it will blow warm air if i set the temp to "HI"

now, if its 20 outside and i set it to 70 inside, it will blow at 70 like it should.

why is the outside temp. controling the inside temp?

Run a dianostic on your climate control. I can't find it here, but there was a website that explained how to troubleshoot your AC.

Sounds to me like a temp. sensor is gone bad. It costs 40 bucks for the sensor at your local MB.

It sounds like you may have a sensor problem. Follow the diagnostics to see what the sensors are reading.

It does more than just diagnose AC... it does a lot more, if you actually read the whole page.

Good luck
