Hood Ornament Vandalism! What to do?

Man I am so p*ssed!

Just noticed today (Christmas Day) that some SOB broke my star off the hood.

I know this is common vandalism, and I am so angry! I live in a rural area; this is the same mentality that goes out and destroys our mailboxes.

I'd like to catch one of these *******s, one time.

Please advise me on how to replace my hood ornament: 99 E300 TD.

Prolly need to get the part from the dealer. Is it an owner installable bit?
Thanks

Sorry about about what happened to you and the car. I'm sure there are many people that would be willing to give you their old ones, because many of us have upgraded to the flat MB badge. Ebay has both the OEM star and flat MB, AMG, Brabus, Carlsson etc.
I hope you get to enjoy the rest of the day.

It's a VERY easy part to find used on ebay. Don't let it get you down.

Same happened to me recently. Feels like someone peed in your bed, don't it?
I wish you could make it disappear like Rolls ones or lead some electricity to it.
3000000 Megawatt so the f****** is burned WELL DONE.

It cost about 20$ from the MB, same on ebay, never found one cheaper.
Easy to install.

I'm still thinking about getting a flat hood emblem, it looks better, but in the other hand I miss the MB Star AIM...point and shoot kinda feel.

Another reason I'm hesitating - if someone tries to steal it they will damage the hood paint probably.

I would be pissed too. I'm knocking on wood, since it hasn't happened. I would be worried.

Not expensive or hard to install; if you don't like eBay, try Performance Products: $23.50: Fits 1989 - 1999 E300D
