E430 alternator belt adjustment
Greetings,
I have just changed a bad alternator on a 1999 E430 sedan.
I am not exactly sure how to get the alternator belt back on and realize
that I must release tension on the tensioner. There is a pulley with a 15mm nut and another much smaller bolt going through it. I am assuming this is the tensioner. Can someone please help me ?
The rebuilt alternator was $209.00 and was rebuilt by Beck Arnley and is the identiical Bosch that it replaced. Much nicer than the $689 the indy wanted for the part. Not too hard changing it out but very close tolerances.
Thanks for your help,
Aloha from Maui
