Please newbies respect these cats, they made this site what it is today. They've contributed a lot of time and money into different projects for peeps like us to benefit from. Even though I've been around for a little over a year, I'm proud to be able to share opinions with the likeness of the old timers on this site

If I got tired of the cover I can always take it off, its only a $150 investment.

Once again, thanks all.

cheers!

Fortunately, for me, I have one of those 'Dont-give-me-a-ticket,-I-got-a-star-in-my-windshield' thingies, that work in NY
and New Jersey. I think that Sgt. did stop me already, kinda grey to lily white hair, with the inability to see large print, RIGHT?? (i.e,:Stop Signs),and he actually paid me for looking as good as I do for my age....

I like the fact that everyone seems to find the term "old timers" humorous.
I didnt' mean it in a disrespective way.
I meant to say peeps that's been here longer than us new comers....even though I'm now a member....no more...almost a member

cheers,

Getting back to the original query, I completed this mod a few months ago. The covers look similar to the ones I purchased, but mine were unpainted and cost about $30 more. I would spend a bit more money again to have the unpainted not knowing if the paint is proper on the pre-painted. I had mine sprayed at a body shop that specializes in MBs and they did a great job. While I was at the body shop, compared the new, the old and a CLK with LEDs. The plastics for all three were identical and the LEDs for the new and CLK were not materially different. Even had them bench test the new and the CLKs. No difference in lighting. I installed them myself and they work great. The only consideration when deciding to purchase the long strip LEDs or the 00+ with corner lights is the overall apperance of the vehicle. If you are not considering the new Depo projectors, I would elect to choose the 00+ as both the headlights and side mirror signal lights would be consistant. The more hazy look.

Silverbullet, thanks for your feedback....that's a relief...I'm considering the new depo and I should be taking delivery from our W210 Light Guru himself ZAM2000 in a week or 2.

cheers!
