theres the long metal rod which has a lil hook like rod that connects to the projector hole ..the question is the back lid doesnt close unless you carve grooves in the plastic for the rod . my question is do you need these rods or can i take them off?

What..??? did i understand you right..?? wait… what..???

sorry... no no uhmmm…

i’m thinking something else must be wrong… if you’re thinking the lid doesn’t close unless you carve some grooves in the plastic for the rod…

come-on now… maybe this is just me...

but you think it may have been designed that way..?? to require you to cut grooves… NO

next... your question... do you need these rods or can i take them off? WHAT

with-out knowing for sure… of what exactly you speak of… i’m just thinking now... but could they be there for a reason..?? YES

and as Raymond said… we need pictures or MFG. info… yep yep..!!

Gomez,

That's just the lock that the manufacture put in so that when they ship, the internal won't move or crack. Simply remove it.

flip it backward, twist a little, and unhook it. You will have to do that before you can install bulb and put the back cover in anyway.

Not meaning to get off subject, but Zam,do you have or know where I can get the drivers side red/green blinker receiver plate for the keyless entry. Some jerk
recently was trying to get in my car,and thought all he had to do was fool with it. He must have thought I still had my Acura....

Thanks ruffrob;

I checked out their website; for the E-Class series it only shows the W211 chassis; how do I determine what wheel actually fits the W210 chassis... or did you go to the 14mm lug bolts?

Thanks!

Richard, you'll have to go for the longer bolts, the OEM's don't fit,but I believe they give you a set with the rims. Please know I found the website AFTER I bought them thru EBAY. They were $500 for a set of 4. Let me know if and when you get 'em. Good luck....

Ruffrob, I noticed in the closeup of your door some pretty heavy swirl marks. A ~$10 tube of Meguiar's ScratchX and some elbow grease would take most of that out! Very nice car, BTW.

Lex,thanks for your observation. it's funny you should mention Meguiars',I just got the whole car care kit from a friend for $10 since he works at Target,so I'll be taking your advice, planning on giving the car some much needed care....

From the looks of your car, we have similar tastes.....
