lamp defective question

1998 e320 - lamp defective error. Front passenger side - the smaller round light next to the bigger headlight - doesn't come on when lights are on. However, it does come on when I put the brights on. Is that still a bulb issue or is it a wiring item?

THX Bob

I think it's called city light or marker light

bob, I've got this same problem, except it's on the Driver's side running light / high beam. Have you been able to resolve this?

driver's side is the same setup as the passenger's side, you have to open it up and see if the light bulbs are good .

somebody just mentioend to me that the inner headlamps have two bulbs each. Can somebody confirm that? I don't have my manual handy so I guess I'll have to investigate this when I get home.

Yes the inner lamps have two light bulbs per side;
one is for high beam and the other bulb is the marker light (small wattage bulb)
