C230 Kompressor Sport
High Mileage Award
FYI, I just got my 250,000km (155,000mi) high mileage certificate and grille badge from Montvale, NJ yesterday. (yes my '99 W210 has 167k) It was very simple, just filled out the app, took to the dlrship, and package comes in the mail. No cost to the owner.
Here's the link in case anyone is interested http://www.mbusa.com/heritage/high-mileage.do
I believe they just reinstated this program in March.

E-class
very cool. You must have one serious commute, to build the mileage so quickly. I have a 91 Eagle Talon in addition to my E-class and it has around 70,000 miles. At that pace it will have taken me 30 years to get there.

Joining the high-mileage club soon
My 97 E420 is coming up on 155k soon, I use the E420 to make the weekly round trip to my three clinics (600 miles round-trip). The 97 is still in pristine condition, immaculate and tight, the interior is clean and wear-free, compression test reveals as-new pressures for all 8 cylinders. I love Mercedes cars!

Awsome! That will help me feel better when the workshop bill is presented.
Mercedes are truly worth every cent spent.

Never was replaced, but had to be serviced at around 140K. This was when my dad was driving it(bought it from him last year). It started shifting funny. The dealer raised the line pressure, I believe, so now it shifts harder but there's less wear occurring while it shifts. Seems like a win-win to me, although it won't shift until 3,000 rpm when it's cold. They said it was either that or replace it. Don't quote me on the line pressure, it could've been some other adjustment.
Back to the regularly scheduled topic; where's the REALLY high-mileage guys? Does the W210 not run as long as the older Mercedes, or have drivers not had enough time yet?

:-(
256,000 miles
Tranny just blew. Need a new one. Wondering if I just get a new car with a warranty. Unless anyone has a spare rebuilt they'd be willing to part with.

S, GL, Escalade ESV, my shoes
Trans blew at 175K mile. Lucky that I found a mechanic who just left Mercedes dealer to start up his shop, so only paid $1600K for trans rebuild instead of $5K that dealer quoted
Cat converter (both) blew last month, another $2k (most go to OEM part)
Other than that, no major repair on the last 5 years. Car runs fine

Recently rolled over 406k km or 251k mi on my '01. Outside of regular maintenance, there hasn't really been anything wrong with this car. By far, one of the most reliable vehicles I've ever had. I wouldn't mind rebuilding the transmission or the engine, as cosmetically, it's still pretty nice. It sure beats having a car note. I've been very fortunate to have an honest and competent mechanic. Major key.
As for the mileage award, I plan on applying for the 250k and the 500k at the same time. It won't take too long for me as my daily commute is about 75km round trip, so give or take a couple years.
