Farewell! Goodbye!
Hi Friends!
I traded my 1997 E420 today for a 2000 ML320. The decision was vry hard becaus eI absolutely loved my car buuuuut litle crappy problems like transmission leak, power steering leak and dashboard cracks were just too much. I found out about PS pump last night and that kinda became the catalyst to trade in my car. Local Exotic Indy Dealer gave me roughly $9600 for the 117K Miles driven W210, and charged $14K or so for the 2000 ML with 113K Miles.
Things I will Miss:
V8 Power, rear shade, seat heaters, pneumatic seats and OEM Xenons. The star logo on the hood
Things I like in the ML:
4x4, MCS with Navigation, Towing capability for my camper and Jetski. No Leaks or problems
thanks for every one who answered my questions and comments.
By the way I have following that I am parting with as well (available for best offer):
1. MBZ complete setup CD changer for 96-97 W210 (Includes adapter and Alpine changer S630)
2. I have I believe two extra Alpine S620's that are compatible with the 96-97 W210 but no PIE or MBZ adapters to go with them
3. ONE - OEM Xenone element (Replacement if your xenon burns) One of mine burnt and I bought a pair - Only used one of them- still in the box.
Hopefully you will find me in the ML320 forum - but I will keep checking this one too. Maybe one day I will get the E55 AMG I always wanted.

I Know the ML isn't any better. I take mercedes for what it is - a vehicle! very well engineered but still something that depriciates and breaks over time.
Just wanted a different ride. I think I like the SUV factor (the driver height). I am short (5-8) and transitioned from an expedition/Envoy in the past to the W210.
The dealer is doing all the services including Full transmission service, replacing noisy PSpump, and miscellanious small plasticky broken parts to bring the car to 100% excellent condition. Actually I will get it tomorrow.
Currently in the Volvo S70 loaner vehicle.
I do miss my 420! But at the same time I think I will like the ML. I can take it to the beach/sand which I could not dream of in my W210.

Its all in the numbers - I paid $4500 out the door to get into the ML. That translates to 10K for mine 14K for his or 8K for mine 12K for his or however you look at it.
It is $4500+ 1997 W210 (17K) = 2000 ML320 (113K)
I could find reasonable ML's with lower miles but pice was outa my range. I could barely afford an unplanned $4500.

Congratulations on your newly-acquired ML.
