How many dummy frequencies are there and how well does the dummy antenna work to pick them up ?

Mercedes no longer sells the antenna cap (the black soft rubber piece that covers the actual antennae) so if you loose the cap from an actual GPS antenna, Mercedes’ only answer is to purchase an entire assembly for $400.

The dummy antenna looks identical to the real antenna. Does it appear that the cap from this dummy antenna would fit the real antenna?

quick thing just to point out.........you posted pictures on here for what reason?

so some of us can lie to you and tell you what a great job you did? not everyone is going to feel what others do so don't take it to heart if some people are going to dislike something......i think it looks lke but not worth the money and the fact that it doesn't do anything.......

Looks like you did a great job... I myself wouldn't have spent that kind of money for something that is non-functional. But then, I no longer have the Tele-Aid service active on my E320, so I guess mine is non-functional too.

Nothing wrong with pride-of-ownership...

HA! I knew the epoxy trick would work! More surface area like I said in previous post. Looks factory installed. Good work.

The dish pic also looks good, although I know the intend is malice... but it would be nice to get the NFL Ticket while driving to Lowes for Sunday house projects...

funny... it is widely accepted to put a wood steering wheel on your Benz... but not the GPS mount... in my opinion... both are PURELY for personal looks and preferences. Ground effects also fall into this category... they look good... but again... all looks...

GREAT WORK ON THE GPS MOUNT....

Be sure to post pics of fake rain sensors when you install those as well.

That only works if you install the non-event switch with the inoperative coding.

Hhhmmm.....

I have a real COMAND in my car (care of Steve) but don't have a GPS antenna. Should I get the dummy antena so that people will see my car and say...
"Wow, that mercedes must have COMAND, since he has a GPS antena."

Naaahhh! I would rather not put an antena (functioning or otherwise) and rather they see the interior of my car and say...
"Wow, this mercedes has COMAND, without the GPS antena. This guy is a cool and unpretentious dude."

I also saw a guy that replaced the S500 emblem on his ride with S600.

Watch out, pretty soon you'll be shoving a cucumber down your pants before heading out to the bars...
