Emblem & Lowering questions

Hi All,

I have several questions for you guys. The first is with respect to installing lowering springs. I have a 2000 E320 (no auto leveling and not a 4matic) and I want to try and install Eibachs myself. I just spoke with a shop and they said I need a special spring compressor and if I "used the $29 dollar special I should notify my next of kin." I have attached a pic of the compressors I was going to buy for the install. These guys also wanted to bill me for 4 hours of shop time which seemed steep for just springs. Has anyone lowered their car themselves? What are the sticky points in the install? Which type of spring compressor do I need? I have lowered mustangs (yes I know Ford is an "F" word but I have seen the light) and other cars, but this guy kinda shook my confidence a bit. Any input is appreciated.

Second, is there an OEM Mercedes flat emblem that fits onto our cars to replace the star. I have heard that an emblem for a W140 would fit but I can never seem to get a definitive answer, and I really would rather have an OEM part. Plus living in Canada makes it a bit of a pain to order parts online. Can anyone help me out on this front?

Thanks for your help, this board is awesome and other advice I have read on here has already saved me more than a few headaches. Keep up the good work.

Fims

As for the emblem question I asked this sometime back and was advised to get the OEM at the dealer the aftermarket I bought is plastic and the color faded in one year.
