My '03 W210 Wagon owner's manual shows a picuture of dual 'optional' *reading lamps*, built in to the standard rear dome light. I've asked my dealer about this, but they are clueless. Has anybody seen this on a car, or can they provide a part #?
there is something wrong with my rear dome...i have made a few posts about it...but the stealer wanted 520 something or 320 somehting can't remember..( mine has parktronic too) but the normal one posted above isn't that much cheaper
I am in need of a little help though...Those that have this OEM installed...can you pull it down and snap a shot of the wire harness? I am trying to install this into my w203 - which should be able to use it...but the OEM rear dome lamp is a single rear dome lamp operated by a door opening wake up signal, or a push from the OCP.
I have a TWO wire harness that is to run from the rear SAM up to this light with Map Lights...
Installed this...and two things...
1.) The icons do not illuminate with the interior lights...
2.) Last night, the map lights WOULD NOT shut off, not at all...I had to pull out the part to save from battery drain...
Does anyone have this OEM that can comment - or has installed this that can comment?
Thanks!
My daughter called me out recently (she's five) that my rear map light buttons do not illuminate like the fronts...you know...when we play I Spy at night...did your install upon completion have the icons illuminate...and if so...how? STAR? I have everything installed, including a second unit after the first locked up keeping the map light on...any help/insight would be appreciated!
Current plan is power the LEDs separately…
Even when pulling out the 3 other blue wires inside, they just ended with a small white connector not connected.
The three other wires on the 6 pin connector go to the actual Parktronic display - most likely to dictate what to display and to supply power to the little piezoelectric warning buzzer…
But power in my car with my SAM, could not be found. Apparently the two wires are only working as a latching relay mechanism to/for the SAM.
In instances with Parktronic, you may have power added when coded Present.
For me, I ran a separate set of wires to get the LEDs to illuminate. 12-14v on bench to board illuminated LEDs But no power with key on, lights on, key and lights on, door open, etc. at loom to light end… No power coming from SAM under any circumstance either Maybe, perhaps, you need to have Parktronic set to Present Ran new wires…icons now light up!
