18 inch Brabus Monoblock Vs on a 99 E-Class w/ 4matic

Hey guys,

I have a problem. I used to drive a black '99 W202 (C-Class) Kompressor with a set of 18 inch Brabus Monoblock Vs.

They were 225/40ZR18s in the front

and

255/35ZR18s in the back.

The problem is that I sold the c-class and got a silver 4matic E-Class. Are they compatible? I brought them in to be fitted and balanced but the guy at the shop said they are not. Can someone help me out? 8.5mm I believe

Thanks

99 E320
conventional wisdom precludes installation of staggered rims to a 4matic
given the potential stress to the power train.
