I have a 2002 e320 bought it used. but the thing is. The tail lights work fine but the passenger side brakelight is out, so i open up the trunk and check it out. I notice that MBZ has those greenish housings for the bulbs so you can screw it in, but i noticed on my passenger side tail light, where the bulb for the brake light should be, the hole was covered by a piece of plastic that was stuck on it that i had to twist off.

Its weird because it seems like this tail light didnt get a brake light bulb from the factory and they left the plastic insert in there. To give you guys an analogy of what this is like... The way plastic models (ie. airplanes, cars, hobbie stuff) have little pieces stuck onto a square frame, except with the tail light bulb insert. get it?

well anyway, i dont care about that. I just needa get the housing for the bulb and put it in. Anyone know where i can get one besides the mercedes dealer?

you sure you didnt just ID the rear fog light socket....which is usually left
un-bulbed and not wired in?

hmmm i see. i did id the rear fog light socket. Hmmm i didnt know that. Thanks guys for clearing that up.

Its just that when i turned the light switch on and you know how you can pull it twice ( once for the fogs and twice for i guess brighter tail lights?) its just that when i did that only the driver side tail light got brighter so i was guessing the brake lights were out. Thanks for clearing that up guys.
