Axxis Pads and Drilled Rotor Direction

I have two questions:

Two months ago I replaced the stock rotors with Brembo drilled rotors. I installed the rotors with all holes facing forward (both fronts and rears, both sides).

Yesterday I saw a newer E55 AMG which had the holes facing forward on the drivers side (front and back); but on the passenger side, both front and back rotor holes faced the rear of the car.

Which is correct?........and this leads to my second question

Do the Axiss pads squeel for a while?

It hardly ever happens while in drive - but in reverse....jezzuz, scares the crap out of women and children. Seems to be worse when they are cold. I put all the shims in and even the anti-squeel backing, but not sure what is happening.

Somebody suggested CRC?

On the flipside - no brake dust

Thoughts please!

Can't help with the rotors, but I used CRC on mine and it started squealing after a while. I think I may not have put enough paste. Anyway, the one I had was red and I did not like it, so I bought another brand; can't remember the name, but it was a generic one that comes in little black/white envelopes.

I made sure I put plenty of paste on them and no squealing so far. It has been about 15000 miles.

I changed the brakes on my Expedition with so squeals at all ~ so I know I didn't have a brain freeze on the Benz brakes.

I see others have the same issues on the Axxis/PBR pads, with fixes ranging from "live with it" to forgetting to clean the new rotors with brake cleaner.

Anybody else?
