navigation help please
hi all, i have a 2001 e320 with command. i have a 2001 nav disc and 2005 nav disc that are for my region. command nav used to work just fine, but now... with the 2001 disc in, it says i am in louisiana, when actually i'm in texas. with the 2005 disc, it displays, no nav disc... please insert nav disc... wasup with that? is there someway to reset the system... or do i need to go to stealership?

Does it work OK with the '05 disc in (just a problem with older disc?). If so, I wonder if the newer disc reset or updated your software to work with newer disc and now older disc is out of synch?

What determines if you need your software updated? I have a 2001 E320 with original disc and am in process of buying a January 2005 replacement disc. What do I need to check for to see if I need an update to my software?
Also, is January '05 new enough to get the across the regional border coverage on major roads?

I have the Jan. 05 navigation cds, and they do allow navigation across regions. The newer software has user enhancements, such as "graying out". As you enter an address, the letters that don't correspond to any potential matches are "grayed out", so that you don't have to scroll past them. I don't know if the '05 discs work with the old software. I do know the new software can use the old or new cds.

update for you guys... i had to calibrate the system with the old 2001 disc, now it works just fine..... i will go to the dealership soon to have it updated so that i can use the 2005 disc. let ya know how it turns out.
