rear view mirror problems

my rear view mirror does not seem to hold in place within the joint and socket. does anyone know how to open up the mirror so that i can try to fix from the inside. any suggestions ?

so e320 what are we going to do. i tried turning that black knob underneath the rear view mirror. does not want to turn. what the heck does that knob do anyway.

i guess the only fix is to replace the entire assembly.

so e320 what are we going to do. i tried turning that black knob underneath the rear

Thats a sensor for the keyless entry not a knob (dont try to turn it). I have a rear view mirror that fits 98 e320 (might fit others). Email sael@hotmail.com

To open the rearview mirrors you have to lift the front frame round the glass from the rearside case...the front frame is hooked in openings in the case and have to be released by lifting it over...there are 4 clips at the bottom and top and 1 at each side...start at the joint/top of the mirror because that is the only spot you can get to easily.

I have several (auto dimming) mirrors that fit the 210 (and 202/208) in case anyone is interested.
