replacement leather for front seats?

ok,y'all,,, my buddy has a 1997 E320 in dire need of replacing the leather on his front seats. The poor car sits outside in the hot Georgia sun all summer and the leather has cracked badly. We've searched the threads trying to find a solution, but come up empty handed. Does anyone know where you can buy replacement leather,or M-B Tex for that matter, seat relpacements? Most of the sites we looked at have them but for much older cars. He would be happy with used if they are in better than average condition. BTW, his interior is Parchment. Anyone?

Actually, your yellowpage local auto upolstry can custom make for you. They usually has vinly that match exact color and texture for a lot cheaper.

Basically, that took out the seating, and replace ONLY the section you want, instead ENTIRE seating.
For Vinly w/ 3 top seating square is about $80 including all the labor.

why don't you look in some junk yards, you should find some seats to swap out with the old ones. it's much easier too.

Helmut, there are leather repair kits that can correct even the most severe conditions. Have you checked around? It would be far less invasive compared to full replacement.

I just replaced both the lower leather seating on my 92 500 sel, I ordered the replacement from
http://www.gahh.com/
They will sell the bottom, top or rear, and I had a local uphostery shop that my local MB dealer uses install. The leather, perforation, and fit is perfect, the only thing i can see is the upper is a little shiney, from all the years of Armorall by the detailers.
I would not try and find anything in the junk yard!

Been there - done that. Good luck. I've looked high and low and nobody but the dealer offers W210 replacement leather seating surfaces. I have Tex but want leather. The front seats covers and headrests will set your buddy back over $1,700 for the set. Hope his back seat still looks OK. No aftermarket supplier I could find offers true leather (or even TEX) replacement seating covers for the W210. I would think that going to a local upholsterer might be an option, but I doubt it will be cheap unless there is only a couple leather inserts that need replacing. My best advice is to look for a low mileage W210 that's totalled with the same interior and try to strike a deal on the parts you need. Even following that route the best I was able to find was Tex (which I don't need) for about $900+shipping.

Cool I agree with everyone

Personally, I like the uberwgn answer, but we don't know how bad they are without photos. I also don't know how user-friendly those kits are.

Since Atlanta is a MAJOR metropolitan area, and there were SO MANY W210s produced (are you sure that is the only body style using the same seats?) I would try the koskesh junkyard route first.

Second, I would try and locate an unholstery shop. no_clue usually has at least two_clues

Third. it sounds like Peter has your answer.

Good Luck!

LOL..
The reason I will never go back to "repair kit" because I used to have a W124C for 4 years.

It come w/ Dark Blue leather and start to have small "crack" all around. Then someone suggest me for Professional restoration. (This guy come w/ the Van w/ all the air blower, heater gun, washing bucket, color code chart...etc)

When done, I swear it was soooooo beautiful!!!!! (like just came out of factory - I even tip him extra )

HOWEVER, little less than 1 year later, my 190 lb butt has make those "pre-existing" crack reappear.
And the "repaired area" looks like it has "skin" disease.....

That's when I decided to go w/ Vinly!!!!!
Another 3 years passed by, when I was selling the car..
The buyer was so impress how well I took care of my leather w/ out a single crack. (yeah right!)
