What can this be? W210 Owners
Recently, I got into a fender bender and to make a long story short I got it fixed and my car is back together looking better than ever. I got hit on the front passenger side fender and wheel. My bodyshop replaced the fender and all the was needed behind it along with painting the hood and door to make the new paint blend in. I got it back for the bodyshop this weekend and noticed one thing. When I have the car in D and waiting at a stop sign or at idle the car shakes as if the idle is missing or something. It just doesn't sound right. Even when I start the car, it doesn't sound as smooth as it did before the accident. I didn't get hit that hard so I know there's no structural damage.
I know the car was fully detailed, engine compartment included. Could the detailer somehow sprayed something what could have caused this to happen. The car runs fine and everything when I'm on the gas but its only when I'm idling in "D".
Any Suggestions or ideas?
I'm bringing it to the dealer first thing tomorrow, but what should I expect. No Check Engine Light so far.
Thanks Ahead of time.

yeah, my first thought too. thing is, after any fender tap, it will never be as
good as new, though it may look like it. after contact, there is physical disrup-
tion to the frame and things gete tweaked. a repair attempts to (though it may
never be able to inspect) detect EVERY piece which has suffered. might be
a simple tweak.....or it could be a seriously damaged part, or something out of
alignment. cheapest is motor mount so have that checked first.

If it's shaking at a stop light, you may want to check your 02 sensors, and MAF ,as well. I thought it was the motor mount too, until I got those checked, and now the only time my car shakes is when I'm applying salt to my fries,,,,,,,,

Thanks everybody for all the input and help. I just got back form the dealer and you guys were right. Motor mount. Its all good, it was a little expensive for the work but the end result is I'm rolling again. Now its time to call GEICO to get my money back.

My E320 vibrates slightly when I'm stopped in front of a red light in D.
You can feel the vibration slightly through the brake pedal and sometimes the steering.
I asked my service advisor if the motor mounts on this car ever needed replacement, he said not usually.
Now, I also notice that the vibration is more easily felt when the AC is on, however, even when the AC is off, there is still very very slight vibration that I don't believe was on the car when it was new.
The car is driven almost daily with about 50,000 miles on it. Never been in any accident.

This issue seems to be more related to the O2 Sensor, and the Air Mass Sensor. I have a slight idle issue as well, but nothing close to what you guys might be experiencing in that the car doesn't shake out real bad.
I had it looked at, and was told this issue was based on either one of those items needing replacement.
Hope this helps.
