E55 or E430 4matic?

Hello,

This is my first post here.

I am in the market for 2000-2002 E430 4 matic or E55. I live in northeast in which it snows quite a lot during winter (planning to use snow tires for winter). The car is going to be mainly driven by my wife.

Which one would you recommend?

Thanks in advance!

BMW
if the wife like some power, get the e55, or better yet, hubert's car.

don't know where you are located in the NE, but here on long island ny i use my e55 as my daily driver all year round. so far so good. i have some crappy kuhmo all seasons on now, but will use them for winter tires once i get a new set of rims.

then again, a 4matic e430 would make a great NE car

You can't beat a 4Matic in snow, but an E55 with snow tires should be okay (provided your a very gentle on the throttle) and would certainly be more fun to drive in the dry.

Lightbulb E55 vs. E430W4

Unless your wife likes to step heavily on the gas pedal, I wouldn't spend the extra money for the E55. In my humble opinion, an AMG is not the typical woman's car. Plus, I think the E430 4-matic, or an E320W4, would be preferable in your NE wintery conditions. Good choice on the post-facelift W210s by the way, I have one too.

If it's for your wife, definately get the e430 4matic. It's got plenty of torque down low, and putting snow tires on an e55 still won't make it hold a candle to the 4matic for handling in bad weather. I have a 2001 e430 that I've owned for 2 1/2 years that I am considering selling for an H2. It has 70,000 miles, an aftermarket warranty that includes electronics for 4 more yrs/100k miles, and all service records.

If you are interested in this model send me a PM, I live in Philly so we're relatively close I'm sure.
