Ticking noise at idle + WOT?

Hey guys, engine in 1997 E420 makes a ticking/rattling sound constantly at idle and also when giving gas. There are no malfunction warning lights. What could be wrong w/ this car?

cam oiler

the noise you hear is coming from the cam oiler they are little plastic tubes that keep oil on your cam shaft.

whoah that looks like something way too advanced for a novice garage warrior like me.. so the ticking noise is a nuisance but it's no harm to the engine..??
