How do I change Climate Control Backlight?
My 01 E320 Climate Control Back light is burnt out so when I turn the head lights on at night the backlight doesn't light out. All the letters and symbols on the climate control itself still works. Just wondering if this is a easy change and what it requires. Thanks

Radio removal keys also work to remove the climate control panel--you insert a key into each of the slots at the lower corners of the panel until they click, then (gently) slide the unit out. (I am speaking as someone who did this earlier today on their 1996 E300.)
There's pretty much only one "feature" on the bottom of the unit, and that's the bulb access. Give it a quarter turn and the bulb slides out. Check/replace it, and put everything back in reverse order.
Before you slide the unit back in, however, push on the left and right (springy-looking) sides at the front to release the keys.
Folks will say that you can pick keys up from your dealer for $5-ish. I tried mine, but they wanted $15. Instead, I went to http://www.perfectmarketaudio.com/keys.html (also has them pictured) and bought a set for $7.95 delivered, including a little (radio removal) instruction sheet. (You can also try eBay.)
