quick poll; if you had choice

what car would you get between the 300c hemi srt vs Audi a8l and 745li.
my thoughts, for sheer power the 300c. for comfort the a8l, for headaches the 745li due to the i drive but otherwise good performance also.

Every one already has a Hemi. I guess they all have the 7's too. I'd rather have the 7. More buttons!

BMW is better than Audi and anything American.

7-series, however, has no resale value.

For me it's a toss up between the A8 and the 7. The interior of the 300C just doesn't compare.

300SRT8 for me. At least I don't have to worry about electrical problem and the stupid i-drive

I think it's one of the best sport sedan out there, right up with the E55. The interio is quite nice. It's the normal 300C that have lousy interior

A lot of people under estimate the audi's. I have owned an audi A8 and have driven the 7 series. The BMW is a nice car and it rides smooth. But understanding the functions in the car can be a chore. The A8 is , in my opinion, a much more solid ride and the technology is far better than that in the BMW. The comfort factor and the performance out does the 7 series anyday. Plus you don't blend into the rest of the crowd when you drive an AUDI A8, A8L, or A8 W12. There are a lot more BMW's on the road than AUDI A8's. As far as resale goes. Most highend luxury rides do not have a huge resale because if you think about it, there is a select crowd of people that buy these vehicles and they usaully hold on to them. Now as for the lower classes such as the 3 series, 5 series, A4, and A6's, they have a better resale because they are more affordable. All this applies to the MB line of cars aswell. There is my 2 cents on the subject.

Any German make will surpass the American market hands down. The 300C, incase you didn't know, is built on an E-Class frame. So to me, that right there shows that the American designers are looking outside the states for better ideas and products. "Daimler/Chrysler"

I don't know if you check, but the SRT8 have one of the best resale value of all of the sedan out there (I think the only car that beat it is the BMW 3 series)

If you check bluebook or nada site, all of the luxury sedan, and even sport sedan (like E55 or S55) take a heavy hit, yet the SRT8 retain value very well

The regular 300C use the Mercedes engine and transmission. The SRT8 have everything built for it uniquely

poll

the reason i ask is my friend who recently bought a a8l everyday tells me how much he loves it and if you buy you would never regret it. i drove it and though the interior is quite nice, was not super impressed unless you put in the sport mode. also i notice the audi takes really big hit in depreciation. regarding the 745 li, there are complaints regarding its idrive and at one point i believe bmw place most of its 02 and 03 under extended warranty to prevent most people returning them as lemons.. i have never driven the srt but am curious regarding its performance characteristics. its back seat does not compare to the extended cab of the a8l and 745li but is longer than the regular a8 and 745.
yes, i never thought i would go american but it has crossed my mind recently after reading the reviews of the srt.

here in the snowbelt the A8 is a huge plus b/c of the Quattro on snow. if you're in socal, why r u even considering awd? your decision would be really pretty simple

Previous generation, i.e. W210.

Kind of like VW Beetles still being made in Mexico.

Problem is the cast iron lump they call an engine.

thanks

thanks for the input guys.. anyway i was at house of imports yesterday. saw the s550 and it was better looking inperson than i thought.

i narrowed my choices now , out with the 300c srt, next to last is the 745, second is a8l and possible tied with s550 until i can test drive the big benz..

C&D recently had a luxury car shootout. The S550 trounced the Lexus LS, Jaguar XJ, BMW 7 and Audi A8.
