Retrofiting Auto Wipers
A guy I know wants to know if he can retro fit a auto wiper funtion to his pre update W210. I'm wondering if anyone here has done this and how hard was it?

Auto wiper? Do you mean a rain sensor? My car is pre-update and has option code 345 "Rain sensor for windshield wiper". There's a large black 'bulge' behind the rearview mirror against the windshield (with the sensor and electronics) but I don't know if there's a lot more to it and if it can be added to existing wiring just like that. Anyone?!

That's a nice question. I bought my 210 new. Altough I have many many extras, I don't order the rain sensor (my mistake). My other cars have this feature and I love it, but I think it will be very difficult to install it aftermarket. Many things have to be replaced, even the whipers comand in the interior.
