Exclamation Vibrating / Shaking at IDLE

Hi , I have searched the forums but cant seem to find the answer as to why you car is acting this way. At idle in Drive or Reverse the car seems to shake. The RPMs are steady and the car seems to drive fine. This happend to me out of no where, one day the car was running fine then the next day I went to turn it on and I could feel the car shaking. The car seems to act fine but this shaking is worrying me. I took the car to the mechanic and they told me there was no shaking at all; he also advised the engine mounts dont look to bad at all. Anyone have this problem? Could it be my Harmonic Balancer? How can I further diagnose this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Is this your second post on this issue. You didn't give enough info. It could be anything from bad gas, need of a turn up, MAF, dirty fuel injectors etc.....Give us somemore info on your car............

First post on this issue. The car is a 98 with 70,000 miles. I can feel like the engine is shaking. When I slow down it feels like the engine has a hard time balanceing? itself. I refilled my gas tank 3 times I really doubt its the gas, I have no check engine light and the car seems to drive normal.

Let me know what extra information you need, I will be more than happy to provide...

I think my wife's car is haveing the same issue. Only a low speeds or at a stop in D or R. It is so slight, that my wife doesn't feel it. But I can feel the car "surge" forward a bit at very slow speeds that makes me think it might be warped rotors, but I don't feel it in the pedal nor the steering wheel movements and I don't feel it at higher speeds. My other thought is it could be the engine mounts or the harmonic balancer. I think I might need to take it to the stealership to make sure the recalls have been done on it first and then see what happens after that.

Once car is moving - it all feels smooth as silk. No issues.

Have the same small problem. It's only noticeable when the car is in D and it is stopped in front of a traffic light. Also, the shaking is intensified when the Air conditioner is on.

The shaking is a very small vibration that can be felt through the brake pedal and sometimes the steering wheel for me.

They say engine mounts aren't too uncommon problems that need fixing on cars. But I'm not familiar with a harmonic balancer. Can anyone provide more insight about the harmonic balancer?
