E430 2000 Will Not Start
Had some problems with the remote keys only responding to IR and not RF (radio frequency) so I thought I would check all the fuses. Pulled each one and measured each then re-installed. The starter engages but the engine doesn't fire. Does anyone know what I screwed up?
On the postitive side the remote keys are now working correctly.
I suppose these are all possibilities:
1. Installed one of the fuses in the wrong location
2. Blew one of the fuses during re-install
3. There's some kind of wierd lockout caused by the security system when you remove power?
Just curious of anyone has seen this problem before I go home and go through the fuse block again? Probably try to disconnect the battery if I get desperate.

just order a new key
the car sounds like it turns over but then just drops right?
you probably recently dropped ur key or spilled something on it and it shorted out the computer part of the key
same thing happened to me in my 97 e420

Problem Found
This problem turned out to be quite simple. In my efforts to "Ohm out" each one of the fuses in the rear fuse block I had inadvertently replaced them all correctly with the exception of the fuse for the fuel pump. It was only partially installed and when connected correctly the engine fired immediately. One curios bi-product of this experiment was now the radio frequency receiver sees the remote keys perfectly and the front dome light is working. For what ever reason the resetting of the fuses cleared the issue and everything is back to normal. Very odd.
Thanks again for everyone's input.
