Headlight Removal...

Hey guys, my E55 being an '01 has a different body than my last '97 (I knew that but just trying to explain) and before I start tearing sheit apart, I have a question. How in the heck do I remove the headlights on this thing? Do I have to remove the entire front bumper? If so that really sucks because it was a 5 minute job on my '97, lol. Please let me know as I searched in here and couldn't find any info.

Thanks...

yeah, we are spoiled with our older models. some tasks are sooo simple compared
to later models. dont have an answer for you, but just a welcome back and tnx
since much of what I know about blinking mirrors, spring/shock swaps came from
your archived posts. saved me tons of guessing.

Found this post by Mark (Cummins) on another forum, hope this helps Jimbo.

"On The Model Update 2000/2002 W210s The Front bumper MUST be removed to change the headlight assy...The early W210s One does Not ...

The front bumper is Very easy to remove...remove the inner wheel well plastic covers..remove the screw that secures the fender/bumper support..and pry it loose..remove the screws at the headlight area and the screws at the lower grill/fog area x2..remove the side marker bulb holders and the outside temp sender..then the fog light harnessX2

Might ask the PDR person to try to Use the fender well with a S hook and use the tire as support"

No problem Raymond, always glad to help. Let me know if there is anything else you want to upgrade just in case I might have directions.

Thanks Davey-boy, you always come through. Unfortunately this sucks that I have to take the freakin front bumper off just to get to the headlight assembly. I have stock xenons but for some reason the left headlight is loose and it doesn't look like anyone's ever been in there before so I want to get in there myself and tighten it up if that's all it needs. Dag nabit!!!
