Also, your repair endeavor has a benefit you may not have considered. After this is done, you'll have a better understanding of the repair process, quotes, parts cost, and other details of the car that you may not have previously had.

P.S. Was there other property damage? (i.e. Did your insurance company have to cut someone a check?)

Yea, I agree. The only other property damage was the other persons vehicle, which was $300 to fix, I never should have even gotten the insurance involved. I should have paid to fix the other parties car, and i would have had to fix my own car anyway. But I THOUGHT I had full coverage, and so did my parents.

Your parents thought you had full coverage? Okay, what was the 6 month rate? I would've expected the difference between liability and full coverage to be noticeably different.

the 6 month rate is about $450 for me and my car. $900 per year, which is VERY low. My parents aren't usually cheap, the deal was that I would buy the car from them for $6000 by working and pay for all the repairs, and they would pay for insurance. My father felt bad for not giving me full coverage, which he told me that he thought he did, so he said he would pay up to $4000 to fix.
