Rear Tail Lamp Installation Problem...
I drive a 1999 E300 TurboDiesel, this picture shows my stock lights.

These are my new tail lights I ordered

Problem? When I put in the new tail lights, I realized I can't use the lights that are in my old OEM set...What bulbs do I need to use? I will make a tail light picture guide, and take before/after pics after I get them working, please help

I am looking at getting the same tail lights. So, the brake light bulbs wont fit in the hole provided or is it the socket that wont fit?

They all seem to fit, but the only pair that will work on the tail lights are your inner reverse lights. I'm going down to the dealer ship and purchasing all new sockets and swapping the bulbs, hope they are in stock =D

the stock socket works, their just small and they dont really fit. its like an azn gun doing a **** star. It just doesn't work. I'm suing stock sockets but my lights dont work, brake lights work but not the regual night lights. I'm going to soder them but its going to be a nightmare when the bulb dies.

So when I get the E55 Tail Light Sockets, everything should work correct? Running lights, brake lights, reverse? Im assuming so...just making sure and the comment about the **** star was great!

I really wish I had a silver car, and do the black setup such as what alexbenz did. That car he did up was orgasmic! I'm going to get a silver car someday soon, and ask him what he did on his. Hey let me know where you are going to get your black fog lamps.

I just realized I didn't need to purchase the E55 brake light sockets, just had to tweak my old ones a little bit. Oh well I like the tail lights anyways...although I had to spray a sealer around the edge and tweak it a little. I would recommend OEM to everyone, but I was in a crunch and settled for the cheap junk =/ Maybe I will get a set of OEM sometime soon!

Well, I might just put the smallest amount of solder on it.....then if i need to replace a bulb I'll just re-heat the solder and suck it up with a molton solder sucking pen.
Are they making the inner parts of these taillights to fit the 96-99 model W210's now? Before, you had to shave down the plastic on the inner lights to make them fit right...just curious...

I'm assuming so because I didn't need to shave any plastic what-so-ever. All I did was need to bend the metal tabs on the socket out a little more to make better contact. Then I had to hit certain edges on the metal plate on the tail light to hold the socket in place (i didn't pound in the edges just a small tap). Hope that helped
