Does anyone have the cap...

Does anyone have an extra cap that goes over the hole on the side skirts for the 96-99 model? I'm refering to the hole that is used to jack the car up with the oem hi-jack. I need the cap that goes over that. Here is a picture, you can see that it's missing on the left side. Please post what you are willing to sell it for and if you are local or not. I would REALLY be appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

I don't think they do, but I sure hope so! Thanks josh, if you find it, ill buy it from you and come pick it up because you are local.

Reason for me not buying it from the dealer is because they want like $35+shipping, and it will take a long time before it even comes in. I'd rather buy used parts and help someone else than give more money off to the dealer.

What city are you located in? If I do get a handle of one and they are the same.....ill just give it to you for like $5-$10 MAX. $35 for a plastic injection molded cap is amazingly overpriced, but thats Mercedes for ya! If the late 80's models don't have the jack plugs, I'll see if my friend has any late 90's wrecks sitting around gathering dust

It's BS and misinformation is what it is.

The jack hole plug is 202 997 01 86 and MSRP is $2.70.

No, The DEALER wanted $35 for the part, not $1.75 which is what it's worth lol.

Josh, I'm located in Anaheim, CA. And thanks again.

First of all, are you dealing with a MB dealership?

Secondly, could it be that the dealer thought you were talking about a different part? Dealer prices are slightly different (even in the same city) but not THAT different.

I'd say call your dealer again and say "I need a jack hole plug, part number: 202 997 01 86" They really like when you have a part number. It saves them time from finding it on the schematic.

I'll bet you a dollar that you get the right price.

Plus, shipping should be free. I'm under the impression that dealerships get shipments from their regional warehouse on a daily basis. This would be just a plastic bag in the lot.

Good luck

...unless you were talking about shipping from the dealership to your house. That wouldn't be free.
