Smile Question on RIM QUALITY

Hi there im looking to put 19' Monoblock VI replicas on a e430. I found these on ebay i was just wondering if the quality on these rims are good since they replicas and all. Does anyone have any feedback with that selller?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...5604696&rd=1,1

or

http://www.formymercedes.com/mb_resu...ategory=Wheels

they both are similar in pricing, and both look like good buys. Just dont know who would be the better person to purchase from... if them. Would anyone know who makes the Monoblock VI replicas? Are all replicas equal in quality?

I think I have those same rims lol, I bought them on ebay from euroteck or something like that for $499 +$70 shipping. The quality is very good and they look very nice.

Actually, i just looked, mine are a little different, but still great quality.

well wow thats a big difference in price even though those are 18'. If you look at the pictures he posts below on e-bay the shinier reflective lip he advertises looks a bit awkward in the pictures he posts below.

I'm undecided if 19's are the way to go or 18's. Anyway anymore feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

19's.. I 'm running 19's on my ride.. 18's will look to small.. if you run 20's.. ride will be to rough..

took me 2 months.. also take into account with staggered rims.. you can't rotate your tires.. depending on what type of tires you get.. I got Kohmo SPT tires.. that are directional tires.. so rotating is out of the question.. but the rides looks nice..

19's all the way! It's the perfect size wheel for the W210 body, especially when staggered like 19X8.5 front and 19X10 rear. Tire size would be 235/35/19 front and 275/30/19 rear. Look in the W210 picture sticky and you will see a lot of options. Good luck and post some pics!

Is there difference between a 19x10 rim vs a 19x9.5 in the rear? Would 275/30/19 rear work for both?

I will definitely post some pictures asap. Got to figure out the shocks / and spring combo as well. I was reading a recent topic on which combination to go with. People were recommending h&r , eurosport, koni. Some said the h&r's springs are garbage... mixed opinions!

This stuff is all new to me first time attempting to do any changes to a cars.

Thank you everyone for your input.

The difference is a half inch and depending on the offset, you might not be able to tell the difference. 265/30 or 275/30 will both work on the rear on a 9.5" rim. The 265 will be a slightly more stretched giving you a rounder sidewall where the 275 will fit sqaure with the edge of the rim giving you a more box edge look, if that makes sense...

Well, the beauty of this forum is that everyone has their own opinions and you can base yours off of everyone's help. I personally had the H&R Sport springs and Bilstein Sport shocks on my '97 E420 for a few years and I loved them since the first day I put them on. I liked the slightly aggressive ride, the stance and the handling was great, but that's my opinion. If I could afford Kleeman and this point, that's the direction I would head but I'm spending too much money on different interests lately that I have to slow down, lol.

Good luck and let us know...

Thanks a lot that helps!

Koni adjustables or kleeman are the shocks to go with you say + PLUS h&r springs. I definitely want the car to handle nice and agressive, but at the same time i don't want to hear ridiculously loud big bumps.

Can someone briefly explain how the whole spring pad # 3,2,1 and all that works?

The spring pads are these circular rubber pads that the springs sit in at the top. They come in sizes from 1-5 (1 being the thinnest). The size of the spring pad is determined by the number of little nipples, count the nipples and that's the size. So, to get the maximum lowering on your car you would use the #1 spring pad. To go a bit higher use the next higher number and so on and so forth. If you look up into your spring with a flashlight you can see the rubber spring pad at the top of the spring.

Interesting , now if i were to get the h&r springs dont those alone lower the car about 1.3 /1.5''? To lower it even more i would play with the spring pads?

just a tad. generally, depending on your specific set up, you'll have something
line #3 in front and maybe #2 in back. the best is to take a look. given the
chart below, you have a little wiggle room to change static height in front and
rear. some folks will even take 2 #4/5 pads and cut one in half to stack them
in order to get just the right gap desired.

part #s for the spring pads for W210:
Front
210 321 01 84 5mm
210 321 02 84 9mm
210 321 03 84 13 mm
210 321 04 84 17 mm
210 321 05 84 21 mm

rear
210 325 01 84 5 mm
210 325 02 84 9 mm
210 325 03 84 13 mm
210 325 04 84 17 mm

Kane.. mine are mandrus millinieum wheels... I ordered from tires.com you could pretty much use a variety of rim shops...

price per rim is about 400 for 19's.. prices vary on websites..

some rims might not fit offset.. you have to take that into account.. you don't want your tire to stick out too much..

Nsupra,

Go with these guys. I highly reccommend them. They are honest as the day is long. There is nothing wrong with the H&R springs. I'm running the H&R race cup kit. That's a 2" drop front and 1.8" drop rear. The shocks and springs come as a matched set. Honestly, the car rides really smooth, not jarring or harsh at all. I actaully forget it's so hammered. It does not ride stock but rides really nice and I'm really critical and in my car all day. Oh yea, I'm running the #1 pads.

Back to the wheels. The MB6 replica's here in this ebay link look really good and fill up the wheel wells perfect. The staggered sets that these guys sell run no spacers and they will throw in Brabus caps. You won't be sorry. Jonathan there is a big help. Look at the top of their store page on ebay. They have multiple pages of customers rides. If you don't want it as low as my car go with the Eibach pro kit and some Koni's. The wheel set up will look really similar to mine.

Good luck.

Oh yea. I'm running 19x8.5's front, 19x10's rear , 235-35's front 265-30's rear no spacers on my wheels.

Euroteck has great prices on wheels for the W210 if you're still looking around. Send me an email at "request@euroteckmotorsports.com," and tell me what wheels you're looking at. It seems you've got a few different types in mind. I'll try to work out a good price.

Thanks for the information real helpful. I was thinking about going with h&r. Is there H&R race cup kit available on there website i don't remember seeing them there. I will definitely take those rims into consideration. Real similar to the other ones posted above. Those rims also come with tires right? Would you happen to know what kind of tires they are and if they are balanced?

That price is with tires balanced with the correct lugs and if I remember Brabus caps if you want. They sell the cup kit also but it's not on their site. You can go one step less with the Eibach pro kit and some Koni's for about the same price. It will ride almost the same ( a little nicer ). the car will not sit on the tires like mine. It will have just about a one inch gap. Still looks good, just not slammed. The wheels are called the brabus MB6 replicas. If you get these wheels in 19x8.5's and 19x9.5's get the ones with the deep dish on the rears. They look sooo much better in person and on the car. I think you have a choice of tire sizes. I have the 235-35's frnt and 265's rear. If I went 245 frnt and 275 rear I would rub. Anyway, the guys there are really helpful. Jonathan returns th e-mails.

If want a set up similar to mine just tell him you saw Marcus's black E320 with the polished DPE's and liked the look. He will sit on the phone with you as you browse their customers rides on his site to get your car to look exaclty the way you want.

Definitely appreciate your replies very informative. I will definitely consider everything you said and most likely end up doing business with them real soon.

I noticed while looking for the h&r springs and eibach springs that they sold sway bars for the front and rear for this car. Would anyone recommend getting them for this car. What benefits should be given from them. Thanks!
