Nate, this is where air power comes in very handy.

Do you have an open end wrench to hold the nut? and counter hold the tip with pliers for the appropriate size metric wrench?

if what you're describing is the top spindle is secured by two nuts, yes....
you may need to secure the bottom with open end wrench, and spin off
the top/locking nut with a deep socket. that annoyed me because I didn't
have any deep sockets so i had to walk to bro-in-law's house to get one.
but it worked out because he had a nice set...and because I grabbed a
huge slice of cheesecake on the way out.

not kidding, Nate...this is as difficult as it gets with shock swap. I don't
think my photos showed the two locking nuts - sorry. i may revise so that
folks prepare to have deep socket on hand. that area is confined and doesn't
lend itself to very many options with hack tools, eg vice grips, allen wrench
etc. pretty much box/open end and deep socket

Thanks Raymond for all your help. I found out how to take the nuts off after 20 minutes of frusteration, but I did get it The hardest part of the entire project was taking the lining out of the trunk lol. I'd say the next hardest was pressing the shocks down. Overall, it was easy, but tired and exhausting.
