This is one mans view..............

Has this ever happened to you?? A few beers didnt help me in this case.....

OK, so I was out tonight at a local hot spot. Upon arrival earlier I had parked my 1997 E420, beautiful as it is, with the valet parking guys. I proudly exit my master piece go inside the hot spot and enjoy myself as all of us would.

A few hours later I decide to call it a night and go outside to the valet parking guys and give them my valet parking ticket. While waiting for my sharp, clean, chrome wheeled, perfectly detailed Merecedes-Benz to be delivered to me two very attractive blond women approach the valet desk and look at me as if to ask from affar where is the valet dude? (One is much more attractive than the other and I quickly lock in on her. ) Anyway, I see their plight and gesture to them that the valet guy is about to return as I see my E420 coming up the drive and point to my car as it is pulled up to the valet desk. They seem confused momentarily but see my car and the valet guy as it is stopped in front of of us all. I tip him then he takes their valet ticket and runs off.........

OK, you might think this post is getting weird but read on. So, as I get into my car, I notice over my shoulder that those two beautiful woman are taking notice of me as I get into my car, especially the one that I singled out as the more attractive one. I hesitate as I get in momentarily but then the testosteron (?) takes over, silly me! I sling the drivers door back open as I slid into the drivers seat and look in the direction of those two beautiful women. They see me and I have their full attention! I bark out to them, "Hey you can ride with me if you'de like" and gesture with my thumb in the direction of my E420. The more attractive one, the one that I singled out, looks at me with her beautiful, sexy, sultry eyes and flowing blond hair and then with her perfect British accent replys: " Naa, my car is nicer!"

I quickly slither into my old, out of date, body style Mercedes-Benz and quickly race off with my (tail) between my legs..............................

OK, let er rip!

Jeff

Did you get a chance to see what car she possibly might have driven? If she had done that I would have smerked and hit up even BETTER looking valet's....I thought this story was going to end in a robbery where your car got jacked. Although I was driving to lunch from my school and I ask one of my old friends if he needed a ride, and he responded in that POS? (w/a smile) As he got into his Subaru Impreza WRX STI we met up to eat at In 'n' Out. Oh well...just another page added to my book, just keep on truckin'

Well CLS550, I am 50 years old and I am an airline pilot. How old are you? You can see a picture of me in my profile for what its worth. Turning 50 was a big deal for me and I dont consider myself old, by any means, and I dont consider myself young either. But I still do have fun. I try to have a good sense of humor so posting this little story was all in fun.

This hot spot is actually a very nice Italian restaurant and bar combination. On the weekend nights it turns into a gathering spot of the local well-to-do's, want-to-be's, and whatnot's, like me! I just thought I would share this story as I got slammed. I couldnt even think of a comeback quick enough...........

PS: raymond, your right! The wife was gone last night so the dog was on the hunt, so to speak. Not really I just wanted to get out of the house.

Eh, it happens.
10 year old cars worth about 12k may not do much for most people.

Now a new cls63, that might be the ticket.

Always a matter of opinion.

Pricey, shiny, lots of HP?

Give me an old 280SL standard any day of the week. It's my opinion that that is the "nicest" car I could ever have.

Started with a '72 VW Beetle, and that was a nice car, for a kid with no money. Now I have a '99 E300 TD, nice car for a grad student/full time jobber with no time and no money. Next will be the SL when I have no time, no money, and no hair.

Couldn't agree with you more but then again here in OC even my CLS63 can be topped by some of the babies at the local clubs. I don't pull that car card any more.

Great story-
There is always something newer, bigger, and badder - way it works!
This thread reminded me when I was single and just purchased my 2000 BMW 328 CI, it was the first year of that body style coupe so there weren't many out there yet, and all of my friends were goggling over it saying " dude, the ladies are gonna go straight to you" Yeeeah, right! I use to say I thought BMW was short for Bring Me Women, but found out it meant Beat My We.......ll you know where that is going. - Break My Wallet, was what a guy told me it meant about his 5 series!!! --

Just kicks and giggles-

Whenever something like that happens I simply remind myself that I'm probably much more appreciative and content with my 'old' W210 in good condition, than the guy driving the latest leasestar...

lets face it, the only women who would really date/fool around with a guy just because of his car are either in high school, or are huge *****.

I've driven anything from a 1988 bmw M3 to a 2000 M5, to a 99 cobra vert, to a brand new clk 550 out, and even from women my age (23), I did not get any comments.

50 years old, an airline pilot, 10 year old car?? You must be a commuter [express] pilot, perhaps an F/O.Remember you only have 10 more years to work unless something changes.
