Replacement Instrument Cluster Bulbs
Hi,
I seem to have a few burned out bulbs behind my instrument cluster. Does anyone know the model numbers of replacement bulbs (Osram)? The only automotive light bulbs which are sold in Finland are Osrams.

1. the temperature led is dim across several segments and I can't determine what it says.
2. the analog speedometer is completely dim across the left half, so I can't see the speed if I'm driving at night (unless I'd go faster than 120km/h). alternatively, I've switched on the led speedometer...
To me, the entire cluster looks like it would be lighted by amber lights, but I don't know. What's your opinion about the two above problems? Amber or white bulbs?

If the problem is not the LED, then, you need the 12V/1.3W light bulb.
For the speedometer, you need the 12V/2W light bulb.
The light bulbs are clear glass, but you see them amber from the front side.

It seems that I have two burned out bulbs, without having removed the panel yet.

one more thing.. the cluster is shoved in there REALLY TIGHT. if you remove it and put it back in, i wonder if you can ever get the same tightness back. i mention this b/c it seems like removing the cluster usually causes rattling and buzzing noise thereafter.

It's easy
Light bulbs are very easy to replace. There are, like Ben’z indicated three types that are color coded. The total number of green holder 1.3v bulbs will vary in quantity depending on the market the car was built for and if it’s Diesel or gas.
The two larger 2W bulbs with yellow holder provide the backlighting for the speedometer and adjacent gauges whereas the rest are for individual pilot lights and also for the LCD displays.
The picture of the instrument cluster back is from my USA spec 2000 E 320.
Hope it helps and enjoy replacing bulbs.
Cheers.
