I'm looking at a 96 E300D W210 with 127K miles.
With all the new electronics (diesel control) on this car, have they proven to be reliable?
What about head gaskets or bending connecting rods? Thanks tplazer

The connecting rod problems affected the OM603 3.5L diesel in the W126 (and W140?). The OM606 3.0L diesel engine in the W210 doesn't have the bending problem.

I don't own a diesel, but from what I've read, the W210 diesel engines are reliable. Someone who owns one can give you the rest of the story.

The 606 is a good motor, make sure the glow plugs have been done fairly recently as they can be very problematic during replacement (i.e. break off in the head)
