Issues with Different Tires Sizes?

I was wondering if there were any issues if I were to put the brand new full size spare in place of the worn tire that has an irrepairable puncture? The bad tire is in the back, and the difference in tread depth is noticible. I was wondering if it is an issue on the rear and should put the spare in the front instead or if it is not something to be worried about at all?

I think it depends on how much tread remains on your other 3 tires. If there is a significant difference in tread depth between the new spare and those, I'd rather have the spare as one of the rears. If there is not much of a difference, I don't think it would matter where you put it.

given the deviation, it *may* make a difference to cruise control system and/or
the car...espec if you have 4matic.

I guess it is a non-issue based on what I'm hearing. I was concerned that the slight different tire size would affect the rear differencial or other components of the vehicle. I'm okay with the car "pulling" to one side or another till I get the time to correct the issue.

It is not a 4matic for what it's worth.

If you're low on cash, check ebay out. You can probably find 2 matching tires, that way you can throw both in the rear.

At highway speeds you might run into disengaging cruisecontrol and/or ABS, ASR errors...
